Hi sherly,

Our continued reliance on mobile devices and the resulting proliferation of mobile apps has led to increased demand in tools that aid in mobile and web development. With the new release of Komodo X, we’ve built upon our existing, polyglot IDE to make mobile and web app development easier and faster than ever before!

  • Remote Chrome debugging
  • PhoneGap, Cordova, Gulp, and Grunt integration
  • New default and other editor keybindings
  • Updated interface
  • And more!

Register now for our webinar on June 6th as Nathan and Carey discuss how Komodo X provides developers with a unified programming experience and why it is the best IDE for web and mobile app developers to experience their favourite frameworks, languages, and tools

May 2016: Komodo X released; Dev Tools and Komodo IDE on sale; Perl webinar; Getting buy-in from your IT Dept

To celebrate the release of Komodo X we're offering discounts on all of our dev tools from now until June 15! Save $50 off Komodo X, Perl Dev Kit, and Tcl Dev Kit, or $100 off ActivePerl Pro Studio and ActiveTcl Pro Studio

The moment is finally here, Komodo X (10) is released and it's like 10 times better! The pun sounded so horrible when I came up with it, I just had to use it. But it really is a LOT better. We have put a ton of focus on the general user experience and performance of Komodo, while also working on significant new features such as Chrome Debugging, Gulp, Grunt, Cordova and PhoneGap integration, and many more interesting new features and enhancements.

Perl business is vibrant, alive, and growing. Leading companies such as Amazon, Boeing, and Cisco continue to demand Perl skills in their employment postings while Booking.com is investing in Perl as its core development language.

Join ActiveState Director of Engineering Tom Radcliffe and guest speaker Jason MacIntosh, founder of Appleseed Software Consulting and co-author of the O'Reilly book "Perl & XML,” as they discuss all things Perl.

Ahhh...the elusive “blessing” of the IT Department... desperately sought, rarely bestowed. In a previous blog my colleague, Michael, defined Shadow IT as “technologies and systems used by corporate employees that have not been approved by IT Departments”. While companies don't want to limit innovation that may come "from the shadows", developers need to face the hard reality that enterprises also don't want to take on the added risk. Why is this risky for companies?

This is a bit more fanciful than the usual ActiveState blog, but sometimes metaphors have more truth in them than facts.
