February 2015 - Docker Networking, Cloud Security Issues, Sam Ramji and the Future of Cloud Foundry

Don't miss our next Cloud Luminary Fireside Chat, emanating live from London prior to Cloud Expo Europe!

Guest: Alexis Richardson, Founder & CEO, Weaveworks

Date/Time: Tues. March 10th, 9am PT / 12pm ET / 5pm GMT

Alexis RichardsonEntrepreneur and investor Alexis Richardson joins Bernard Golden to discuss the state of Docker and his open source project, Weave, which creates a virtual network that connects Docker containers deployed across multiple hosts.

Alexis Richardson is the founder of Weaveworks, makers of Weave - a new product for Docker and containerized applications. Previously, Alexis was Head of Product for App Suite & Real Time Intelligence at Pivotal, where he led commercial vFabric products that moved to Pivotal from VMware, including open source projects Spring, RabbitMQ, Redis and Tomcat.

Watch the recording of Bernard Golden's interview with Sam Ramji, the newly appointed CEO of the Cloud Foundry Foundation. They discussed Sam's initial focus, his goals and the vision for Cloud Foundry as well as the impact Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) has for businesses. Below is a recording of the entire Fireside Chat and notable quotes from the new CEO.

Sam Ramji Quote

Over the last couple of years I have talked to numerous enterprise customers, analysts, industry pundits, and others interested in cloud technologies, and one thing is abundantly clear…Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) seems to mean different things to different people. But the term PaaS is irrelevant--it's just noise. What is relevant, and what is important, is what PaaS does: enable applications! That's what enterprises care about.
