Stackato 2.4 Released
Stackato 2.4 Released, ExactTarget Announced as Enterprise Customer

ActiveState has announced the release of Stackato 2.4, the next evolution in enterprise private Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) technology.

In conjunction with the release, ActiveState has announced a customer relationship with global interactive marketing Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) provider, ExactTarget.

Stackato 2.4 features:

  • Skinnable UI - OEM partners can now implement Stackato with customized logo, colors and branding
  • Improved logging - Logs can be aggregated from multiple nodes to a central location, then forwarded to 3rd party solutions like Loggly
  • Expanded WebSocket support - SPDY protocol

In the pre-cloud days it was OK for logs to simply be file resources. If you have a single system to worry about, you can find and manage your log files the old-fashioned way.

As we start to move to cloud systems, a number of problems present themselves. Stackato 2.4 resolves these by aggregating logs by a new process called Logyard.

The macro system in Komodo Edit/IDE allows for some creative possibilities. I've written a macro that provides the ability to replay chess games, utilizing the editor to display the board, game pieces and sequences of moves.
